Greater Bluffton Community Fund Awarded Matching Grant

February 8, 2010 -- To encourage the growth and sustainability of the Greater Bluffton Community Fund, the Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry recently voted to award a matching grant to the fund in the amount of $30,000. When matched successfully through contributions, it will provide an additional $60,000 to the fund.

Through the establishment of the Greater Bluffton Community Fund in 2007, caring, forward-thinking community members have created what promises to be a powerful source of assistance to better the "Greater Bluffton community" for the people of today and the generations to come. Under the auspices of the fund, a permanent endowment fund to serve the community in perpetuity, and a community charitable fund to meet immediate needs have been established. To date, the fund has awarded $10,000 to nonprofits serving the greater Bluffton community.
