LowCountry Habitat for Humanity Home Projects
Each of our homes comes completely outfitted with new appliances. The cost for these appliances, including a washer & dryer, are charged to LowCountry Habitat for Humanity and included in the final mortgage payment. Receiving these items as a charitable gift would lessen the total mortgage amount by just that much. Each washer & dryer we provide is energy efficient with costs in the $350-$400 range per unit.
Why this connection makes a difference:
It helps offset costs incurred by our non-profit, LowCountry Habitat for Humanity, and therefore reduces the cost we have to charge our homeowners. In the long run, it helps further reduce mortgage costs and this slightly lowers monthly payments for our homeowners. In these uncertain economic times, the less our already poverty-stricken homeowners have to pay in mortgage costs, even down to the last penny, counts a great deal.
